Synopsis
- The podcast host Tim interviews Stuart, an Instagram influencer known for his stylish underwear photos.
- Stuart discusses getting into underwear and swimwear later in life, after a body transformation in his 40s-50s gave him more confidence. He first got inspired by seeing John Travolta in tight briefs in Saturday Night Fever as a kid.
- Stuart talks about some of his favorite underwear brands like Brave Person Underwear and Jockmail. He discovered Brave Person on Wish by accident and was drawn to our athletic shorts. Stuart started tagging us in his Instagram posts, and we wanted to share all of them, BUT. He was wearing the athletic shorts that have not been in production for years, for this we could not share pictures of Stuart wearing a product that isn’t in production any more, so we reached out and offered to send him products from our current catalog.
- So we sent Stuart our offer via Instagram DM’s (with as many typos as possible, like true professionals), and he said yes!
- Stuart highlights how Brave Person and other friskier underwear designs make him feel sexy and confident. Certain cuts and design choices accentuate the male form and puts the junk front and center (BPU is always advocating for humankind to acknowledge that men have visible bulges. Let’s learn to celebrate bulges like we learned to celebrate the female bosom)
- Stuart matches his underwear to his ties, a quirk he has. His husband supports his Instagram and wearing provocative underwear, knowing it makes Stuart feel good.
- The host praises Stuart for showing off fun styles and friskier cuts at over 50, breaking stereotypes that you can’t wear certain things as you age. Stuart only started wearing more daring designs and cuts in the last 6 months.
- The episode is a casual and friendly chat between mature adults who are encouraging people to push their comfort levels and be bold and brave to try friskier designs (within each one’s personal limits) and to not support uggs or crocs.

[00:00:00.000 –> 00:00:11.080] Hi everyone, welcome to another edition of the Brief Talk podcast.
[00:00:11.080 –> 00:00:17.320] We have a brief tale with you from someone I discovered on Instagram.
[00:00:17.320 –> 00:00:18.320] It is Stuart.
[00:00:18.320 –> 00:00:19.320] Welcome Stuart.
[00:00:19.320 –> 00:00:22.440] Hey guys, it’s great to finally be here.
[00:00:22.440 –> 00:00:23.440] It’s good to have you here.
[00:00:23.440 –> 00:00:29.760] I discovered you probably in the last two weeks on Twitter, not Twitter, Instagram.
[00:00:29.760 –> 00:00:34.480] I just really liked your page and liked what you’re wearing.
[00:00:34.480 –> 00:00:38.720] You just have such a confidence about you that I figured I needed to get you on the podcast.
[00:00:39.720 –> 00:00:43.520] So you agreed and now here you are.
[00:00:43.520 –> 00:00:44.520] Here I am.
[00:00:44.520 –> 00:00:45.600] Good to have you.
[00:00:45.600 –> 00:00:51.480] First off, I know many of our listeners may not know who you are.
[00:00:51.480 –> 00:00:54.200] So just tell our listeners a little bit about you.
[00:00:54.200 –> 00:00:56.440] Okay, so yeah, my name is Stuart.
[00:00:56.440 –> 00:01:03.080] I currently live in a small town, moderately small town in Florida called Fort St. Lucie.
[00:01:03.080 –> 00:01:07.720] It’s about two hours north of West Palm Beach or a couple hours further north of Fort Montreal.
[00:01:07.720 –> 00:01:14.280] So I’m in that southern Florida area, but I’m originally from Ohio in a very small town
[00:01:14.280 –> 00:01:16.160] up in the northwest corner.
[00:01:16.160 –> 00:01:20.080] My hometown had 3000 people in it when I left and it was the county seat.
[00:01:20.080 –> 00:01:23.280] So I’m a good old farm boy, Midwestern boy.
[00:01:23.280 –> 00:01:26.640] I am of a certain age.
[00:01:26.640 –> 00:01:31.760] Yes, I am over 50, will be 57 at the end of the year.
[00:01:31.760 –> 00:01:35.480] So yes, everyone mark your calendars and send me presents.
[00:01:35.480 –> 00:01:38.080] Send underwear, send swimwear.
[00:01:38.080 –> 00:01:39.140] There we go.
[00:01:39.140 –> 00:01:43.520] But I have went to Ohio State for college and I majored in theater.
[00:01:43.520 –> 00:01:49.240] I’ve been doing that for quite a while and even dabbled a little bit of professional
[00:01:49.240 –> 00:01:53.480] for a very short time, but unlike like every other actor, I like to eat.
[00:01:53.480 –> 00:02:00.280] So I ended up going into other fields, retail, and then finally into the restaurant business
[00:02:00.280 –> 00:02:02.440] where I became a bartender and server.
[00:02:02.440 –> 00:02:04.000] Went to culinary school for about a year.
[00:02:04.000 –> 00:02:08.960] So I love to cook, but eventually I’ve made it back into the retail world where I currently
[00:02:08.960 –> 00:02:12.120] work at Total Wine and More here locally.
[00:02:12.120 –> 00:02:16.480] So I’ve been there for 12 years and if you need a good recommendation for a bottle of
[00:02:16.480 –> 00:02:18.160] wine, I’m your guy.
[00:02:18.160 –> 00:02:20.120] So that’s my background on me.
[00:02:20.120 –> 00:02:26.000] Well, I know quite a few people out there who will be probably hitting you up for recommendations
[00:02:26.000 –> 00:02:27.520] for wine.
[00:02:27.520 –> 00:02:29.640] Just saying, they know who they are.
[00:02:29.640 –> 00:02:31.840] I’m not going to say a word.
[00:02:31.840 –> 00:02:33.400] That’s awesome.
[00:02:33.400 –> 00:02:40.000] And now you’re in Florida and sunny Florida, which is always nice and it’s perfect for swimwear, which I’m jealous of because there’s nowhere, I live north of you in Atlanta area
[00:02:45.920 –> 00:02:50.480] and there’s not a good place to go for swimwear.
[00:02:50.480 –> 00:02:51.480] Yep.
[00:02:51.480 –> 00:02:52.480] Yep.
[00:02:52.480 –> 00:02:58.440] My house currently is about a 15 minute to 20 minute drive from the ocean.
[00:02:58.440 –> 00:03:04.320] I’m very far, very far on the right side of the map.
[00:03:04.320 –> 00:03:09.040] And if I really wanted to get in my car and jump, I could be putting my feet in the ocean
[00:03:09.040 –> 00:03:12.200] in about 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic.
[00:03:12.200 –> 00:03:13.200] So jealous.
[00:03:13.200 –> 00:03:14.200] So jealous.
[00:03:14.200 –> 00:03:20.200] And now’s the time to do it because it’s after Labor Day and all most of the tourists have gone home and have
[00:03:20.200 –> 00:03:27.320] Other kids in class and back in school. And so it’s probably a good time to go to the beach right before it gets
[00:03:27.320 –> 00:03:32.520] Cold in florida as I say in quotation marks. Well this morning when I went out for a bike ride
[00:03:32.520 –> 00:03:34.360] It was about 74
[00:03:34.360 –> 00:03:37.480] But you’re in that twilight phase between
[00:03:37.480 –> 00:03:44.040] When the like you said the left of labor day people but we’re also getting ready to come into season when snowbirds come down
[00:03:44.200 –> 00:03:48.380] So in this area everybody from the new england area canadians
[00:03:48.380 –> 00:03:56.440] Michigan those kind of really cold people they come down here pushing in the next month or so and they’ll be here till like valentine’s
[00:03:56.440 –> 00:03:57.880] day, so
[00:03:57.880 –> 00:04:01.160] Uh, we have our our full-on snowbird season coming up
[00:04:01.160 –> 00:04:05.080] So it will get busy again because you know, it’s beautiful here and it’s cold up there. So
[00:04:05.080 –> 00:04:10.440] They’re running to escape the weather. Uh, well enjoy it while you can that’s all I have to say
[00:04:10.440 –> 00:04:13.800] Which is good. So how did you?
[00:04:13.800 –> 00:04:19.480] you first get into underwear and swimwear? Because when you look at your Instagram, you
[00:04:19.480 –> 00:04:26.040] have some amazing swimwear. I did notice the flamingos because I love flamingos. That is
[00:04:26.040 –> 00:04:33.080] one of my top things. And you have also in your mix, we’ve talked about this in our lead
[00:04:33.080 –> 00:04:40.160] up to the podcast, those shorts you have, which are amazing and fun. How did it come
[00:04:40.160 –> 00:04:42.480] about you discover underwear and such?
[00:04:42.480 –> 00:04:46.520] Well, okay, so this is going to be a, I’m going to try to make a long story short as
[00:04:46.520 –> 00:04:53.560] much as possible. So much like most men of our age, you know, the 50 plus crowd, we were
[00:04:53.560 –> 00:04:59.840] probably introduced to nice looking underwear all the way back in Saturday Night Fever.
[00:04:59.840 –> 00:05:04.520] We all went and saw it with our parents. And we saw John Travolta, you know, blow drying
[00:05:04.520 –> 00:05:09.000] his hair and those black bikini briefs. It’s the first time I’d ever seen anything that
[00:05:09.000 –> 00:05:13.640] wasn’t your standard tidy whitey, you know, DVDs because at that time, you know, 1977,
[00:05:13.640 –> 00:05:17.840] I was like, you know, 10 years old. And you know, what are you going to wear? What your
[00:05:17.840 –> 00:05:23.000] mom buys you and that was the standard. So my mom thought they were really sexy. So here
[00:05:23.000 –> 00:05:27.720] I am at, you know, 11 years old, getting my first pair of bikini underwear, and not knowing,
[00:05:27.720 –> 00:05:32.040] you know, what to do with them, because obviously, I didn’t sell them out like anybody. But it
[00:05:32.040 –> 00:05:39.560] always stuck with me. And as I got older, now the pictures you see of me currently are
[00:05:39.560 –> 00:05:46.680] after a great body transformation. I moved to Florida at 30 years old, weighing 128 pounds,
[00:05:46.680 –> 00:05:52.640] soaking wet. So I was a stick for the longest time. And I had some very serious body image
[00:05:52.640 –> 00:05:59.360] of issues about being able to wear those kinds of clothes, especially the smaller bikini
[00:05:59.360 –> 00:06:05.360] briefs or something that was sexy. And they really didn’t exist much for you know, the
[00:06:05.360 –> 00:06:16.640] 20 year olds in 1980, 1987 to 90. But I got into them as I discovered weightlifting and
[00:06:16.640 –> 00:06:23.160] getting into the gym. And as I got more confident, so my interest in what you see currently is
[00:06:23.160 –> 00:06:34.480] really only due to the last maybe three to five years. As Yeah, so as I as I permit myself,
[00:06:34.480 –> 00:06:42.840] as I grew into an adult male body, and went from 128 pounds to my current 165 170 I got
[00:06:42.840 –> 00:06:49.680] more confident I got I’ve always liked things that were a little tighter. As I told you,
[00:06:49.680 –> 00:06:53.240] I was in college, the theater major, but I was a music theater major. So I also had to
[00:06:53.240 –> 00:06:58.120] take dance classes. So I wore the leotards and the tights and I wore things that were
[00:06:58.120 –> 00:07:05.400] very, you know, form fitting. So that’s always been part of my my body clothing language,
[00:07:05.400 –> 00:07:11.480] but not for what you would wear underneath. So I first got there with the classic boxer
[00:07:11.480 –> 00:07:16.000] brief, which everybody, you know, got into when they when they were first introduced
[00:07:16.000 –> 00:07:21.480] in like what the 90s, and Calvin Klein and such. So those were the first things I got
[00:07:21.480 –> 00:07:28.800] that actually made me feel like I was sexy. But in the last few years, as I settled into
[00:07:28.800 –> 00:07:35.560] this new physique, I really wanted something that made me feel even sexier. So I started
[00:07:35.560 –> 00:07:40.000] shopping online. And that’s something caught my attention. I’m like, Oh, hey, I think I
[00:07:40.000 –> 00:07:45.040] could wear that. And it just kind of started with one piece, and then it became two. And
[00:07:45.040 –> 00:07:48.880] now I have a whole drawer full of stuff, depending on what my mood is.
[00:07:48.880 –> 00:07:55.160] Nice. So when did you start wearing swim briefs and such? Because on your Instagram, you have
[00:07:55.160 –> 00:08:01.880] a lot of pictures and them. So when did you start going, Hey, I’m gonna wear these.
[00:08:01.880 –> 00:08:11.360] So my, my first pair of good swimwear was from the under undergear catalog way back
[00:08:11.360 –> 00:08:16.760] in the day, when International Mail still existed, and I still have them. So I bought
[00:08:16.760 –> 00:08:22.600] them in college. And you know, the late 80s, early 90s, they’re a black square cut with
[00:08:22.600 –> 00:08:26.760] the you probably seen the picture on the site and there I still wear them, because they
[00:08:26.760 –> 00:08:32.840] still fit. But that was my first pair of something that was a little more daring. It’s not, the board shorts, or the big baggy kind of, you know, things that would fill with air when you got in the pool. And I wore those to death. I mean, they’re getting a little thread there. That’s why I had to get some new stuff. And as I started getting into theĀ underwear, I was like, you know, I kind of deserve some new swimwear. So the swimwear
[00:08:51.540 –> 00:08:59.480] that you’re seeing now I bought in the last six months. So yeah, so the, the flamingo pair
[00:08:59.480 –> 00:09:04.400] that I blame on like my good friend Eric, who made me laugh because he likes flamingos
[00:09:04.400 –> 00:09:10.280] and he called them mingos. His daughter abbreviated it. So it once I it made me laugh. I’m like,
[00:09:10.280 –> 00:09:14.280] Okay, now I have to have this. So now I have a flamingo pair of swim briefs. I’ve got a
[00:09:14.280 –> 00:09:18.080] couple of flamingo camp shirts, you know, kind of bowling shirt thing. I’m actually
[00:09:18.080 –> 00:09:23.480] wearing one of the flamingo shirts right now. Because it’s, you know, pink and blue and
[00:09:23.480 –> 00:09:28.080] bright and very Florida. And I never thought that I would ever wear something that that
[00:09:28.080 –> 00:09:32.600] looked like flamingos on it. But all of a sudden, they’re my new obsession. And therefore,
[00:09:32.600 –> 00:09:40.600] I like things that are our hip huggers that are a bit on the more daring side. So I want
[00:09:40.600 –> 00:09:45.520] to see how far I can get away with something in public. That’s one of the pair you see
[00:09:45.520 –> 00:09:53.760] on my site is a bright yellow pair that are basically like a spring song that has a full
[00:09:53.760 –> 00:10:00.200] backside, but it’s tied with spring on the side. Yeah. So if someone wanted to be a little
[00:10:00.200 –> 00:10:05.160] adventurous, they could just yank that bow string and it would come pretty much come
[00:10:05.160 –> 00:10:13.920] off. So I like things that that challenge my own comfortability and allow me to grow
[00:10:13.920 –> 00:10:19.520] in that way and also make me feel confident. So that’s kind of how it all developed. And
[00:10:19.520 –> 00:10:26.560] it’s been because of this, this body transformation, I finally feel like I belong and that I don’t
[00:10:26.560 –> 00:10:32.560] have to hide. Interesting. You blow my mind totally when you just say that it’s been in
[00:10:32.560 –> 00:10:37.800] the last year and the last six months that you’ve worn this because from your Instagram account, it looks like you’ve always worn it. I mean, you look very comfortable. YouĀ look very like you feel very sexy in it. You look just amazing in it. And then here you
[00:10:49.780 –> 00:10:54.480] are coming saying, Oh, it’s because of my body transformation that now I feel comfortable
[00:10:54.480 –> 00:11:00.360] doing this. And that’s the thing is that is that what happened was, all right, and I say
[00:11:00.360 –> 00:11:04.440] this to everybody when they talk to me about, you know, my clothing in general, the problem
[00:11:04.440 –> 00:11:10.280] is that sometimes when you buy stuff, and maybe you’re not ready for it, the clothes
[00:11:10.280 –> 00:11:16.760] or the underwear, they wear you. And if you’re if you’re not gonna feel comfortable and confident
[00:11:16.760 –> 00:11:23.360] and sexy in it, it’s gonna show. So my my own body confidence and the fact that I now
[00:11:23.360 –> 00:11:28.360] have, you know, an actual chest, I have biceps, I have, you know, all the good bumps in the
[00:11:28.360 –> 00:11:35.720] right places, you know, and that now that I feel that that is giving me that kind of confidence,
[00:11:35.720 –> 00:11:44.400] the the other stuff, kind of just enhanced it. So I I now wear the outfits, I now wear
[00:11:44.400 –> 00:11:50.720] the swimwear and the underwear, I wear them, they don’t wear me. So that’s that confidence
[00:11:50.720 –> 00:11:56.920] coming through is because I’ve got that twinkle in my eye knowing that damn, I look good in
[00:11:56.920 –> 00:11:57.920] this.
[00:11:57.920 –> 00:12:02.600] I think that’s important for every guy, though. I mean, you have to get to the point where
[00:12:02.600 –> 00:12:11.080] you’re happy that you’re with whether it’s, you know, getting the chest or if you’re beefy
[00:12:11.080 –> 00:12:16.640] and you want to stay beefy and, you know, however you feel comfortable in your body
[00:12:16.640 –> 00:12:21.480] that you feel sexy and you wear something that highlights it because everyone’s different,
[00:12:21.480 –> 00:12:26.040] everyone has their own journey. And I think that’s important with underwear because it
[00:12:26.040 –> 00:12:34.480] just adds to what you already do. Because I know many of our listeners are in that boat
[00:12:34.480 –> 00:12:40.320] right now where they’re like, well, I don’t know if I can wear this. I don’t know. I don’t
[00:12:40.320 –> 00:12:46.160] feel comfortable wearing this. I don’t think it looks good on me. But you have to get to
[00:12:46.160 –> 00:12:51.640] the point in your mind where you feel great about yourself. I mean, that could be working
[00:12:51.640 –> 00:12:57.260] out that could be, you know, losing a little weight or some people gaining weight depending
[00:12:57.260 –> 00:13:06.200] on who they are and just enjoying what you have. So that’s great to hear you got to that
[00:13:06.200 –> 00:13:12.840] place and you enjoy what you’re doing and it really shows in your pictures.
[00:13:12.840 –> 00:13:18.800] Well, to just kind of piggyback on what you said, you know, how many times you’ve been
[00:13:18.800 –> 00:13:25.080] out and you seen somebody and you go, oh, no, you shouldn’t be wearing that. But that’s
[00:13:25.080 –> 00:13:30.240] not for us to judge. That person, when they left the house feels confident enough and
[00:13:30.240 –> 00:13:34.000] they feel good in what they’re wearing. And that’s the most important part that they’re
[00:13:34.000 –> 00:13:38.620] they’re exuding that confidence and they no matter how you feel, if you think they’re
[00:13:38.620 –> 00:13:43.280] overweight or they something too tight, or it’s not a complimentary pattern or whatever
[00:13:43.280 –> 00:13:49.480] it is, whatever that is, that thing that they’re wearing makes them feel good and makes them
[00:13:49.480 –> 00:13:54.320] feel confident. You may not agree with it, but that’s not really for you to call that’s
[00:13:54.320 –> 00:14:01.240] really for them to do because they’re on their own path to their own, you know, self awareness.
[00:14:01.240 –> 00:14:06.520] And if that makes them feel good, more power to you. I mean, I when I buy stuff online,
[00:14:06.520 –> 00:14:11.980] and you know, I tried to put up reviews, although the underwear that I buy online, they don’t
[00:14:11.980 –> 00:14:17.080] really want me to put up reviews because they tend to show a little too much because they’re
[00:14:17.080 –> 00:14:22.540] probably showing you know, a little too much cubic hair. So my pictures that you see on
[00:14:22.540 –> 00:14:27.620] Instagram have been knocked off the review sites from wish and team and all those places
[00:14:27.620 –> 00:14:32.980] because they’re they’re just quote unquote, too provocative for their sensitive eyes.
[00:14:32.980 –> 00:14:37.720] But I would never ask somebody to wear that. But if they want to wear what I’m wearing,
[00:14:37.720 –> 00:14:42.560] and they feel good about themselves, knock yourself up. You rock that you feel good and
[00:14:42.560 –> 00:14:47.600] you feel confident. You wear that for your partner and you have a grand old time.
[00:14:47.600 –> 00:14:52.420] Exactly. And that’s one thing about underwear is that it can give you confidence it can
[00:14:52.420 –> 00:14:57.940] do things unlike swimwear and other stuff because no one sees it. So you can wear whatever you
[00:14:57.940 –> 00:15:04.820] want under your clothes and feel great about yourself and not show it off to the world
[00:15:04.820 –> 00:15:10.140] because some people are shy and don’t want to, you know, put it all out there. And then
[00:15:10.140 –> 00:15:13.580] we have other people like you said, who do want to put it all out there and more power
[00:15:13.580 –> 00:15:19.660] to you if you want to put it out there and go have fun. So underwear kind of is the first
[00:15:19.660 –> 00:15:26.500] step in sort of breaking free and feeling good. And, you know, we all have those pairs
[00:15:26.500 –> 00:15:30.720] that, you know, when we’re having a crappy day, it’s like, let’s put on this pair or
[00:15:30.720 –> 00:15:37.700] let’s, you know, feel sexy. This is a good pair for this day. It allows us to, you know,
[00:15:37.700 –> 00:15:42.620] play to those emotions when, you know, no one else knows, which is a good thing.
[00:15:42.620 –> 00:15:49.980] Well, and especially for people who may not, the underwear world has really put out a certain
[00:15:49.980 –> 00:15:54.980] image of the people that they give us that are wearing these things. And they’re beautiful.
[00:15:54.980 –> 00:15:59.660] I mean, you see Christian Hogue, you see Mark Markey, Mark Goldberg, you see these people
[00:15:59.660 –> 00:16:02.980] who are wearing these, this underwear, you know, Shawn Mendez, you know, it’s other people
[00:16:02.980 –> 00:16:08.220] who are famous and have great bodies and they’re all six foot four and they have, you know,
[00:16:08.220 –> 00:16:11.620] like they have personal trainers and they all have dieticians and this thing that that’s
[00:16:11.620 –> 00:16:16.140] a perfect image. And that’s intimidating because you think, well, I could never wear that because
[00:16:16.140 –> 00:16:21.260] I don’t look like that. Well, that’s not the point. The point is they’re giving you an
[00:16:21.260 –> 00:16:26.500] idealism, but anybody can wear that stuff. It’s gonna, it’s gonna put a twinkle in your
[00:16:26.500 –> 00:16:32.700] eye and you’re gonna feel like you can emulate, okay, you know, I don’t have abs like any
[00:16:32.700 –> 00:16:39.540] of those people, but I’m going to be 57. And part of what I started doing my Instagram
[00:16:39.540 –> 00:16:46.700] for was, you know, I do the hashtag fit over 50 all the time. Because there’s nothing wrong
[00:16:46.700 –> 00:16:52.260] with looking the best you can for your age, whatever age it is, we’re looking the best
[00:16:52.260 –> 00:16:57.220] you can for whatever body type you have. And feeling good about yourself. Those, you know,
[00:16:57.220 –> 00:17:02.220] I go to the gym and I see people of all different shapes and sizes. And I look at them and go,
[00:17:02.220 –> 00:17:06.820] Oh, I start to have to stop myself from being judgmental. Because I look at it and go, you
[00:17:06.820 –> 00:17:10.900] know, I used to be that person. I used to be that little skinny guy that probably fresh
[00:17:10.900 –> 00:17:15.780] out of high school or 20s and he looks like he said someone’s to take him home and feed
[00:17:15.780 –> 00:17:22.860] him a sandwich. But everybody starts somewhere. And if this if this little piece of material
[00:17:22.860 –> 00:17:26.860] will give you that spring in your step and give you that little naughty twinkle in your
[00:17:26.860 –> 00:17:31.740] eye going, you know, you have no idea what I’m wearing under here. That’s great. And
[00:17:31.740 –> 00:17:37.380] that’s a first step in building that confidence of like, I can do this because I’m now doing
[00:17:37.380 –> 00:17:40.740] something that nobody else can see it just for me.
[00:17:40.740 –> 00:17:45.060] Exactly. Exactly. And that’s another reason I wanted you on the podcast because you are
[00:17:45.060 –> 00:17:51.740] are over 50. And there’s been lots of discussion over the years what people should wear as
[00:17:51.740 –> 00:17:56.260] they age and I’m of the opinion you should wear whatever the hell you want to and not
[00:17:56.260 –> 00:18:01.060] worry about it. So when I stumbled across your Instagram and saw everything and I’m
[00:18:01.060 –> 00:18:11.020] like, here is someone who who is over 50 who is looking good who is wearing fun stuff.
[00:18:11.020 –> 00:18:18.660] You’ve got to get him on the podcast because we have many many listeners who are aging.
[00:18:18.660 –> 00:18:24.360] Everyone’s aging on this podcast. But it’s something that’s never really talked about
[00:18:24.360 –> 00:18:30.460] because in the gay world it’s like, oh, you’re over 40. You’re totally dead. Oh my God. You’re
[00:18:30.460 –> 00:18:31.460] just so old.
[00:18:31.460 –> 00:18:34.860] Oh, you’re pushing the 40? Mustn’t we all say 30?
[00:18:34.860 –> 00:18:36.660] Well, I’m being nice.
[00:18:36.660 –> 00:18:37.660] There we go.
[00:18:37.660 –> 00:18:41.460] I’m 40. Well, the first gay death is 30.
[00:18:41.460 –> 00:18:42.460] Well, 40 is an 830. Yeah.
[00:18:42.460 –> 00:18:48.660] Gay death too is 40 and then you’re just totally buried and gone at 50. So that’s good to see
[00:18:48.660 –> 00:18:56.580] because it’s even in culture in general it’s very youth oriented, very okay, the young
[00:18:56.580 –> 00:19:02.600] new thing. But, you know, we are going to get old. We’re all going to be at this point
[00:19:02.600 –> 00:19:08.260] and we all want to keep doing what we want to do. And then you coming out and saying,
[00:19:08.260 –> 00:19:15.540] oh, I’ve only been wearing swim briefs in the last six months is like, wow, okay. You’re
[00:19:15.540 –> 00:19:22.260] now going out and doing things that other guys wish they could do in their 20s that
[00:19:22.260 –> 00:19:23.260] haven’t done it yet.
[00:19:23.260 –> 00:19:25.540] Well, I guess I’m just making up for lost time.
[00:19:25.540 –> 00:19:33.160] Well, that’s a good thing too because we get guys all the time going who are any age going,
[00:19:33.160 –> 00:19:37.280] well, I just think I’m too old to wear this. And it’s like, no, you’re not too old to wear
[00:19:37.280 –> 00:19:40.440] this. You’re perfect to wear this. So…
[00:19:40.440 –> 00:19:44.820] Don’t get me wrong. I mean, come on. There are some things that I would probably not
[00:19:44.820 –> 00:19:52.240] wear at 57. That’s someone who is 20 years old or 25. But there is a very, very small
[00:19:52.240 –> 00:19:55.160] percentage of things that are kind of like age appropriate. But most of the underwear
[00:19:55.160 –> 00:20:00.000] stuff really isn’t. As long as you’re confident and you feel like it’s going to accent whatever
[00:20:00.000 –> 00:20:05.480] it is, that’s fine. But, you know, I’m not going to go wear Ugg boots because first of
[00:20:05.480 –> 00:20:10.320] all, they’re gross. But anyway.
[00:20:10.320 –> 00:20:16.200] I just think they’re ugly. But that’s just me. I’m like, oh, I have a friend who loves
[00:20:16.200 –> 00:20:19.840] them and I always give her hell. I’m like, those are the ugliest damn boots. Why are
[00:20:19.840 –> 00:20:21.800] you paying that much money for something that ugly?
[00:20:21.800 –> 00:20:27.880] Same thing with Crocs. Crocs are stupid.
[00:20:27.880 –> 00:20:28.880] All of the podcasts.
[00:20:28.880 –> 00:20:35.200] That’s… Yeah, I agree. I don’t know anyone who listens who likes Crocs. So if we offended
[00:20:35.200 –> 00:20:41.440] you, sorry. But oh, well. But it’s true because they are ugly. I know nurses wear them because
[00:20:41.440 –> 00:20:43.000] they’re super comfortable and that’s like…
[00:20:43.000 –> 00:20:47.720] Apparently they are. But I’m like, I don’t care how comfortable they are. No, they’re
[00:20:47.720 –> 00:20:53.000] just not attractive. I see people wearing them at the gym. I’m like, I don’t get it.
[00:20:53.000 –> 00:20:54.000] Okay.
[00:20:54.000 –> 00:20:58.280] I only give passes to nurses because they need something good on their feet, easy to
[00:20:58.280 –> 00:21:03.520] clean, whatnot. I’m like, you, I get. 100% nurses, I support you in that. But everyone
[00:21:03.520 –> 00:21:09.960] else, I’m just like, nope. Sorry. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Not doing it. Not wearing them. Not…
[00:21:09.960 –> 00:21:13.200] Sorry. Never owned one. Never will. Thanks.
[00:21:13.200 –> 00:21:20.860] So what are some of your favorite brands and styles right now? What are some of your must
[00:21:20.860 –> 00:21:25.480] haves in your underwear drawer and swimwear drawer?
[00:21:25.480 –> 00:21:32.600] So right now, I am a big fan of both brave person underwear, which is the people that
[00:21:32.600 –> 00:21:39.200] you’ve seen me, they designed the Lycra shorts that you really love. And I’m a big kind of
[00:21:39.200 –> 00:21:46.080] jockmail. So those are my two. Those are my two right now. Of course, everybody idolizes
[00:21:46.080 –> 00:21:52.080] to exist and Calvin Klein and some of the bigger ones, but I really admire Todd Sanfield.
[00:21:52.080 –> 00:21:59.920] He has a great line. Grand Access by Steve Grand. He does some amazing work and I love
[00:21:59.920 –> 00:22:06.480] the fact that he’s doing everything from boxer briefs all the way to posing trunks. And they
[00:22:06.480 –> 00:22:11.680] really accent the male form in a way. And he should know both him and Todd Sanfield
[00:22:11.680 –> 00:22:18.160] know well because they were former underwear models. And I think those guys do some amazing
[00:22:18.160 –> 00:22:25.040] work. But yeah, the two in my drawer right now are Jockmail and Brave Person [Underwear]. And I found brave person by accident on Wish, the Wish app and Wish website. Because I was looking
[00:22:32.200 –> 00:22:38.280] for workout wear. So things I wear the gym, I as we said, I’m a child of the 80s. You
[00:22:38.280 –> 00:22:42.120] know, back when shorts were short, so they you know, I don’t like anything that doesn’t
[00:22:42.120 –> 00:22:48.240] go because past mid thigh, you know, if it hits my knees are too long. So I was looking
[00:22:48.240 –> 00:22:57.920] for the classic. Yes, classic 1980s gym teacher shorts, you know, three inches or less inseam.
[00:22:57.920 –> 00:23:03.720] I love that stuff. You know, I realized that the fetishist kind of thing maybe because
[00:23:03.720 –> 00:23:07.720] you go back and you watch meatballs and some of these other like classic 80s movies and
[00:23:07.720 –> 00:23:12.080] they’re all wearing shorts. You know, I personally have a magnum ti kind of thing. I Tom Selleck
[00:23:12.080 –> 00:23:16.360] in that show was the epitome of masculinity and his shorts were like, you know, a proper
[00:23:16.360 –> 00:23:22.600] length. So as I was looking for shorts, I found these three quarter length, what looked
[00:23:22.600 –> 00:23:28.120] like the old fashioned biking shorts that were made for the gym didn’t know who they
[00:23:28.120 –> 00:23:34.960] were made by but I love the way they look. So I bought them in both black and gray. And
[00:23:34.960 –> 00:23:39.480] when they came, they’re from Brave Person Underwear. And there what’s great about them is that they’re they’re like an old football jersey mesh. So they’re like they have the little tiny holes all over them. So they’re very breathable. But they also have the builtin pouch in the front, which is double line. So you don’t have to wear underwear with them.
[00:23:52.560 –> 00:23:58.440] And they basically fit like a second skin. So when you get put them on, yeah, you get
[00:23:58.440 –> 00:24:05.040] that nice kind of hugging your backside. And it accentuates the goods enough that you know, when you’re wearing them, you can attract attention if that is your, your thing. But I wear them because they’re comfortable. And so I started tagging for a person underwear
[00:24:17.200 –> 00:24:22.320] and the pictures of those, this is because I liked the brand. And they eventually reached
[00:24:22.320 –> 00:24:27.560] out to me on Instagram saying, Hey, this is a product that we really don’t put out anymore.
[00:24:27.560 –> 00:24:31.160] We still have a bunch in our warehouse. That’s why they’re going through these other websites.
[00:24:31.160 –> 00:24:35.560] They’re kind of using our old inventory. But would you be interested in if we gave you
[00:24:35.560 –> 00:24:39.600] some pieces if you would wear them and test them out. So that’s how I kind of got involved with them. And I got I got four pairs, I got two pairs of underwear and two jock straps from them. They’re all all those pictures of those are online. I tag them every timeĀ I wear them. In fact, I wore the blue and silver jockstrap this morning, when I went
[00:24:54.960 –> 00:25:00.600] for my bike ride with probably put the picture up there and maybe in the next day or so. But
[00:25:00.600 –> 00:25:09.160] I wore them with a pair of lycra bike shorts that are completely black sheer. So I kind
[00:25:09.160 –> 00:25:13.720] of needed to wear something underneath of them so that because the front has a double
[00:25:13.720 –> 00:25:19.600] layer so you don’t see the front but the rest of it is pretty much like wearing chiffon.
[00:25:19.600 –> 00:25:27.760] Wow. Well, they’re great, but they’re, they’re a little much wear to the gym, they would
[00:25:27.760 –> 00:25:35.160] be probably great with like a crop top and and military boots if I was going out dancing.
[00:25:35.160 –> 00:25:39.560] But haven’t got haven’t gotten that far yet. Well, so pretty person. Yeah, they sent me
[00:25:39.560 –> 00:25:46.140] they sent me some stuff to try and love it. And in fact, I’m looking at maybe getting
[00:25:46.140 –> 00:25:52.000] a pair of swim trunks from them because they have another set that I like in swimwear I
[00:25:52.000 –> 00:25:56.600] think that are a little higher cut up on the legs so that it kind of accentuates everything
[00:25:56.600 –> 00:26:01.960] toward the middle. And that way it kind of draws focus where it needs to be drawn. And
[00:26:01.960 –> 00:26:07.320] so I might be getting a pair of those you might see some time in the future.
[00:26:07.320 –> 00:26:12.600] Awesome. Very cool. Yeah, because I’ve noticed you were all over the brave person Instagram
[00:26:12.600 –> 00:26:17.000] site, which was kind of awesome when I was looking and I’m like, Wait a minute, there
[00:26:17.000 –> 00:26:21.820] he is. Wait, wait, look. So that’s pretty cool. You had to work with them. That’s awesome.
[00:26:21.820 –> 00:26:28.660] Oh, yeah. I had so much fun trying to be inventive on how to do the pictures and the one that
[00:26:28.660 –> 00:26:34.580] I love I had worn a pair of their the blue pair of briefs to work and I was like, you
[00:26:34.580 –> 00:26:38.860] know what I want to do this like, daddy just got home from the office. And so I did the
[00:26:38.860 –> 00:26:45.340] whole kind of Clark Kent multi picture undressing with the shirt pulled open and then the pants
[00:26:45.340 –> 00:26:51.540] kind of tucked open with the tie still on, you know, you know, very, you know, chic geek
[00:26:51.540 –> 00:26:55.400] provocative because I have my glasses on and then I turned around and threw the tie over
[00:26:55.400 –> 00:26:59.760] my back and it was just fun being inventive on how to do the pictures for that. So that
[00:26:59.760 –> 00:27:03.480] was it. They’re all online. You can see them anytime you want.
[00:27:03.480 –> 00:27:11.420] Oh, yes, I see. I see them right now. Well, part of them. Very good. Yeah. Yeah. And then
[00:27:11.420 –> 00:27:15.940] a brave person asked me to send me the pictures and they put them on their on their Twitter
[00:27:15.940 –> 00:27:24.580] page or X or whatever they call it now. Nice. You’re you’re an underwear influencer. Well,
[00:27:24.580 –> 00:27:33.020] a baby one. Still, but it’s still awesome though. It’s I am of the school that you want
[00:27:33.020 –> 00:27:40.140] smaller influencers to promote your brand and underwear because the smaller influencers
[00:27:40.140 –> 00:27:45.620] don’t just post a picture. They will. People will send you messages or comments about,
[00:27:45.620 –> 00:27:49.880] oh my God, what is that? Where do I get that? And you’ll answer them and have a conversation
[00:27:49.880 –> 00:27:56.380] with them about the underwear. And some people go buy the underwear after that because it’s
[00:27:56.380 –> 00:28:02.360] like, oh my God, I love this. So that’s why I think more brands should use the smaller
[00:28:02.360 –> 00:28:07.620] underwear lover because, you know, you’re not guaranteed with a million followers to
[00:28:07.620 –> 00:28:16.740] get sales to get anything. So. Well, and I actually believe that someone like me. Has
[00:28:16.740 –> 00:28:22.220] more of a passion. Exactly. And a connect and a connection to the product. So to me,
[00:28:22.220 –> 00:28:30.100] I feel like someone who is maybe only got, you know, fifteen hundred followers, they’re
[00:28:30.100 –> 00:28:34.800] more apt to be honest about how they feel about a product. Like, I just got some other
[00:28:34.800 –> 00:28:42.640] jock straps from just finding new things from the different sites and they’re really cool,
[00:28:42.640 –> 00:28:49.760] but they’re really different. Like one jock strap has no leg straps. It’s just the waist
[00:28:49.760 –> 00:28:54.680] strap and a pouch that you fall into. You want to talk about something that accents
[00:28:54.680 –> 00:29:02.080] the good my lord that pushes everything up in front like a rock. That’s really great.
[00:29:02.080 –> 00:29:06.760] And then the other one is the exact opposite. It’s black and yellow, like almost caution
[00:29:06.760 –> 00:29:12.740] tape color, but it has leg straps and no top top part. So don’t ask me how to defy gravity
[00:29:12.740 –> 00:29:18.800] and doesn’t fall down. But that sucker, it just, you know, it stays there. But boy, is
[00:29:18.800 –> 00:29:23.980] it sexy and does it make you feel like you just own the world because you put them on
[00:29:23.980 –> 00:29:29.200] and you look at it and you go, holy crap, because it just fits the right way and holds
[00:29:29.200 –> 00:29:33.720] the right way. And it’s like, I mean, if you have any form of a flat stomach, even if it’s
[00:29:33.720 –> 00:29:39.360] not the most flat, it will make you feel like you’ve got Chris Hemsworth back of six pack.
[00:29:39.360 –> 00:29:44.400] It’s just something that just really, really makes you feel confident. It’s awesome.
[00:29:44.400 –> 00:29:50.380] Nice. Nice. I see also in your Instagram account, you have a lot of ties. Do you ever match
[00:29:50.380 –> 00:29:58.560] your underwear with your ties? It’s actually really funny that you ask that
[00:29:58.560 –> 00:30:03.880] question because I have this really weird obsession with that two things on my outfit
[00:30:03.880 –> 00:30:09.400] have to match. And it usually is my tie and my underwear. So if you see me wearing a blue
[00:30:09.400 –> 00:30:14.400] tie, I’m wearing blue underwear. But you see me wearing a red tie, it’s wearing underwear.
[00:30:14.400 –> 00:30:18.000] Sometimes if I don’t have the colors that match, maybe it’s going to be my tie and my
[00:30:18.000 –> 00:30:22.860] socks. But I have to have two things on me that match since I wear black pants and a
[00:30:22.860 –> 00:30:28.820] white shirt and black shoes most of almost every day for work. That’s the only way that
[00:30:28.820 –> 00:30:33.940] I can dress it up. It’s the women have all kinds of accessories that they can wear. They
[00:30:33.940 –> 00:30:37.820] have earrings, they have necklaces, they have jewelry, bracelets, this, that kind of thing.
[00:30:37.820 –> 00:30:41.740] They’ve got great shirts, they’ve got scarves, they’ve got things they can put in their hair.
[00:30:41.740 –> 00:30:46.540] What do men have when they want to dress up like diddly squat? You can’t even have a tie.
[00:30:46.540 –> 00:30:52.280] I’ve got a three foot piece of material that hangs from my neck to my navel. What does
[00:30:52.280 –> 00:30:58.120] it do? So I dress things up by really kind of going, “Oh, hey, I’m wearing a pink tie.
[00:30:58.120 –> 00:31:02.640] I wear my pink underwear today. Oh, I’ve got this.” And so it just became one of these
[00:31:02.640 –> 00:31:08.360] little quirks that I have. And it’s just hysterical that you nailed me on it without even knowing
[00:31:08.360 –> 00:31:09.360] me.
[00:31:09.360 –> 00:31:12.360] Well, you know, it takes one to know one.
[00:31:12.360 –> 00:31:16.860] And so I thought it was just me having OCD or something.
[00:31:16.860 –> 00:31:23.100] Oh no. When I’ve worn a tie, I always match my tie and my underwear. It was not a good
[00:31:23.100 –> 00:31:24.100] day unless I did.
[00:31:24.100 –> 00:31:27.100] Well, it’s the same thing as like, you know, when people say you have to match your shoes
[00:31:27.100 –> 00:31:32.940] and your belt. I mean, it’s kind of like the same idea. It’s just that one is seen and
[00:31:32.940 –> 00:31:38.900] one isn’t. It just kind of, it makes sense to me that you match the two. So like today,
[00:31:38.900 –> 00:31:44.840] I’m wearing my, I told you, my pink and blue flamingo shirt and underwear I have on. The
[00:31:44.840 –> 00:31:50.960] blue matches the blue in the shirt. And so they’re all this lovely like sky blue color.
[00:31:50.960 –> 00:31:54.740] And I feel pretty because of it.
[00:31:54.740 –> 00:32:02.220] As you should. As you should. Very cool. So what did your partner and friends think of
[00:32:02.220 –> 00:32:04.720] your Instagram and underwear?
[00:32:04.720 –> 00:32:09.860] Well, okay, my husband, David, we’ve been together, we are actually going to celebrate
[00:32:09.860 –> 00:32:15.740] our 25th anniversary here in a couple of weeks. So we’ve been together for 26 total, but we
[00:32:15.740 –> 00:32:22.920] 25 as our first union service and then legally for 15 when we went to California and got
[00:32:22.920 –> 00:32:27.920] the marriage thing. But well, Prop 9 passed. We’ve been together for a quarter century
[00:32:27.920 –> 00:32:40.200] now. So my friends prefer that my more provocative shirtless or underwear photos stay on Instagram.
[00:32:40.200 –> 00:32:46.440] The most people that follow me that are friends and family follow me on Facebook. Okay. Yeah,
[00:32:46.440 –> 00:32:54.820] basically Instagram for all people. And Facebook is where I kind of keep that separate from
[00:32:54.820 –> 00:33:01.140] my Instagram page. Facebook is for telling people what my day’s been like and what’s
[00:33:01.140 –> 00:33:05.020] been going on in my life. So people who are out of town and my friends and family can
[00:33:05.020 –> 00:33:09.980] keep up with my goings on with work or theater or if I’m you know, we’re hey, we’re gonna
[00:33:09.980 –> 00:33:14.980] go catch a movie or we had date night. So that’s that’s Facebook. So I keep that separate
[00:33:14.980 –> 00:33:19.740] from that because I got a lot of not complaints, but a little people going, Hey, guys, you
[00:33:19.740 –> 00:33:24.340] know, can you put a shirt on once in a while? You know, we did it, you know, you you look
[00:33:24.340 –> 00:33:33.160] like that, but that’s enough. So they started ribbing me for what I wasn’t wearing and in
[00:33:33.160 –> 00:33:40.060] the in the appropriate place. So Instagram became more of a place to be inspirational.
[00:33:40.060 –> 00:33:48.340] So I keep that over there. My husband, sometimes I buy things and he’ll see the new outfits
[00:33:48.340 –> 00:33:52.160] and I’m wearing like, I told you I had those sheer biking shorts on this morning and he’s
[00:33:52.160 –> 00:33:58.460] like, and where are you going to wear those? And so it becomes more of the point of you
[00:33:58.460 –> 00:34:02.380] know, what’s appropriate? What’s appropriate for public? What are you keeping just for
[00:34:02.380 –> 00:34:07.300] me? Can you can you walk around the house while you’re cooking eggs and doing the lawn
[00:34:07.300 –> 00:34:14.240] and wear that because that looks really hot. So he is appreciative of what I wear. He thinks
[00:34:14.240 –> 00:34:18.300] that’s insane that I get up at four o’clock in the morning and go to the gym at five for
[00:34:18.300 –> 00:34:26.120] two hours every day and you know, bike rides on the weekend. So what I go through to maintain
[00:34:26.120 –> 00:34:32.440] the look that makes me happy, he thinks is nuts, but it makes me happy. So he’s all for
[00:34:32.440 –> 00:34:36.780] anything that makes me happy and makes me confident. And if the little pieces of fabric
[00:34:36.780 –> 00:34:42.600] that I wear under my pants makes that even better, he’s all for it because you know,
[00:34:42.600 –> 00:34:50.600] he knows that other than fans on the internet who will see only pictures of me, nobody else
[00:34:50.600 –> 00:34:56.560] is going to see them up close and personal. So he’s all fine with me feeling confident
[00:34:56.560 –> 00:35:03.240] because he knows that even if there’s, you know, 10,000 people out there who like a certain
[00:35:03.240 –> 00:35:09.700] picture because it’s really hot and there’s some great, you know, new underwear I’ve got,
[00:35:09.700 –> 00:35:14.040] he’s the only person that gets to see it up in person. It’s, it’s, this is, you know, it’s
[00:35:14.040 –> 00:35:17.940] a stamp on my backside that says “Property of David,” you know, so that’s as far as it’s
[00:35:17.940 –> 00:35:23.880] going to go. So he’s all for me feeling comfortable and feeling confident and getting things.
[00:35:23.880 –> 00:35:29.520] In fact, I was shopping for some new underwear on Spoonware this morning. So there’ll be
[00:35:29.520 –> 00:35:30.520] more pictures.
[00:35:30.520 –> 00:35:38.680] Nice. We like that. And that’s cool because I think a lot of people have partners, some
[00:35:38.680 –> 00:35:44.860] are like yours who are like, “Go have fun, show off on the internet,” whatever. And others
[00:35:44.860 –> 00:35:53.680] get jealous and are like, “Hmm, no.” So it’s good to hear that he lets you share your passion
[00:35:53.680 –> 00:35:57.340] with others, but you know, he gets the benefits from it. So.
[00:35:57.340 –> 00:36:03.080] Well, and that’s the thing is that, like I said, we’ve been together for 25, 26 years
[00:36:03.080 –> 00:36:09.200] and it took a long time for us to settle into this rhythm of like, you know, if we were
[00:36:09.200 –> 00:36:13.440] 20 and this was happening, it might be a totally different story because you know, when you
[00:36:13.440 –> 00:36:18.440] don’t have, and I’m not speaking to sound offensive to anybody, but if you don’t have
[00:36:18.440 –> 00:36:24.660] a maturity level in your, in your relationship and you’re 20 something and you’re jealous
[00:36:24.660 –> 00:36:29.360] that somebody is wearing something because they want to fool around on you, and that’s
[00:36:29.360 –> 00:36:32.840] the first thing you think of, you don’t have a confidence in your own relationships. So
[00:36:32.840 –> 00:36:37.920] there’s a first sign of that. So the fact that we’ve been together so long and we have
[00:36:37.920 –> 00:36:44.440] such a trust built up over the years, don’t get me wrong, we fight all the time and we
[00:36:44.440 –> 00:36:48.880] have our issues and we, you know, we go to counseling, we iron out some details, everyone’s
[00:36:48.880 –> 00:36:55.720] kind of clear the pipes. But the fact that we have that trust and he knows that it’s,
[00:36:55.720 –> 00:37:01.400] I’m not doing this to attract other men’s attention or women or whoever, anybody’s attention,
[00:37:01.400 –> 00:37:09.520] it’s not for anybody for a cookie affair. It’s for me. And that, that really helps a
[00:37:09.520 –> 00:37:15.960] lot. But if we were younger and in our twenties, you know, when you’re that sexual prime and
[00:37:15.960 –> 00:37:21.200] you don’t really know if this person that you’re dating or involved with is going to
[00:37:21.200 –> 00:37:27.920] be your life partner or marriage material, there could be jealousy there. So I’m not
[00:37:27.920 –> 00:37:34.600] saying that that probably wouldn’t have occurred, but you know, we’re old and settled and at
[00:37:34.600 –> 00:37:39.880] this point we’re like, yeah, yeah, I think you’ll do. I’m too tired to start over. So
[00:37:39.880 –> 00:37:40.880] you’re fine.
[00:37:40.880 –> 00:37:47.840] Well, and to, especially in my experience in dating in your twenties, it’s always too
[00:37:47.840 –> 00:37:54.400] that, you know, there’s something newer and better around the corner that you think of
[00:37:54.400 –> 00:38:01.720] when you’re that age. I know I did at times. And then when you get to be around our ages,
[00:38:01.720 –> 00:38:05.980] you know, it’s the same stuff around the corner. There’s nothing newer coming. There’s nothing
[00:38:05.980 –> 00:38:13.360] better coming. It’s going to be the same as either what you already have or worse. So
[00:38:13.360 –> 00:38:18.000] don’t even think there’s something better coming cause just, you know, been there, done
[00:38:18.000 –> 00:38:19.400] that now I’m just like,
[00:38:19.400 –> 00:38:26.720] Oh yeah. And when I first got this body transformation, I questioned, you know, whether or not we
[00:38:26.720 –> 00:38:33.360] should be together because I’m like, I’m like, I look like this and, and David doesn’t look
[00:38:33.360 –> 00:38:37.580] anywhere as fit as I do. He’s gone up and down and weight and he has an average person’s
[00:38:37.580 –> 00:38:43.600] build. But I was like, Hey, don’t I really deserve to have a someone who looks just like
[00:38:43.600 –> 00:38:48.120] me like that. And then I realized that not everybody has that kind of commitment or desire
[00:38:48.120 –> 00:38:55.720] or drive to it. So it was like, I set myself up for this unattainable fantasy that would
[00:38:55.720 –> 00:39:02.320] never even possibly remotely exist in most people’s experience. You know, when you get
[00:39:02.320 –> 00:39:09.320] to be our age, most men have a comfortable, sedentary life and has settled into a comfortable
[00:39:09.320 –> 00:39:14.400] sedentary body. And that’s perfectly fine. There’s nothing wrong with that. I just thought
[00:39:14.400 –> 00:39:18.080] that everybody did what I did and they should all look like me and they should all do this.
[00:39:18.080 –> 00:39:26.400] And it’s like, Oh dude, wake up and it’s not realistic. And so I went through a phase where
[00:39:26.400 –> 00:39:34.280] it was like that. And then I realized that I’m a rarity in, in over 50 crowd because
[00:39:34.280 –> 00:39:38.840] I didn’t start working out until I was in my forties. And so I kind of, I’m calling
[00:39:38.840 –> 00:39:39.840] myself a late boomer.
[00:39:39.840 –> 00:39:46.520] Well, you have to do what makes you happy. And then in a relationship, I’ve always looked
[00:39:46.520 –> 00:39:55.880] at it this way. I go for the personality over, you know, either looks or body because I’m
[00:39:55.880 –> 00:40:00.480] like, yeah, you may have someone hot, but I don’t want them dumb as a stump. I can’t
[00:40:00.480 –> 00:40:03.160] say anything to, and all they talk about is the gym.
[00:40:03.160 –> 00:40:04.160] And looks fade.
[00:40:04.160 –> 00:40:09.040] And looks fade. And you can always go, like you said, like you did, you can always go
[00:40:09.040 –> 00:40:17.960] work out if you want to. There’s never too late to do that. So I’ve always gone for personality.
[00:40:17.960 –> 00:40:24.520] And usually when people meet the new man in my life, which has been rare, they go, I want
[00:40:24.520 –> 00:40:28.680] to picture you together. And I’m like, well, that’s because you’re going for looks and
[00:40:28.680 –> 00:40:35.920] not for personality. Thank you. But that’s just me, you know, but I’ve been forever.
[00:40:35.920 –> 00:40:41.760] But then, then, then I’m sure on your end, once you see what they wear under their clothes,
[00:40:41.760 –> 00:40:47.120] like you’re wearing what? No, no, no, this isn’t going to work. We have to do some good
[00:40:47.120 –> 00:40:48.120] underwear now.
[00:40:48.120 –> 00:40:53.680] Oh yeah. It’s usually like, wait a minute. It’s usually this. It’s, I see what they’re
[00:40:53.680 –> 00:41:01.360] wearing. I’m like, oh no, no, no, no, no, no. We’ve got to upgrade. And they go, what
[00:41:01.360 –> 00:41:07.080] are you wearing? And I’m like, um, what you should be wearing. Thank you. But I always
[00:41:07.080 –> 00:41:14.720] had the one who, if they always be like, Ooh, what is that time for you to go? I’m not even
[00:41:14.720 –> 00:41:22.120] wasting my time. Don’t have time to work on you moving on. I like what I like. You don’t.
[00:41:22.120 –> 00:41:25.080] The only thing that stays them is that, you know, if they’re wearing something that you
[00:41:25.080 –> 00:41:28.520] don’t care for, the only that might save them in the short term is that they look better
[00:41:28.520 –> 00:41:32.920] out of them than they do in them. So there you go. Well, I always view underwear as everything
[00:41:32.920 –> 00:41:39.980] else they can change easily. And they usually get, they usually get a gift within the first
[00:41:39.980 –> 00:41:44.880] couple of dates when I see them in underwear. It’s like here, have this. Thanks. You’ll
[00:41:44.880 –> 00:41:52.320] thank me later. And my most recent ex, his husband thanked me for that. Cause I was like,
[00:41:52.320 –> 00:41:58.400] cause he’s mentioned something about the underwear. I’m like, you’re welcome. That was all me.
[00:41:58.400 –> 00:42:05.160] You’re welcome. Thanks. Thank you. Thank you. All right. I guess I’ll wrap it up there.
[00:42:05.160 –> 00:42:10.160] Um, that was an amazing conversation. Now we have the easiest question of all. Where
[00:42:10.160 –> 00:42:12.960] can they find you on social media?
[00:42:12.960 –> 00:42:22.480] Uh, well, uh, it’s easiest to find me on Instagram, uh, which is Stuart in Stuart. Uh, at my town
[00:42:22.480 –> 00:42:27.440] here in Florida is just outside the city of Stuart. So that was easiest for me to copy.
[00:42:27.440 –> 00:42:35.040] Uh, so it’s S T U A R T N S T U A R T Stuart in Stuart. That’s the easiest way to find
[00:42:35.040 –> 00:42:39.600] me. Uh, I do have, like I said, Twitter or X, whatever it’s called now. Um, I don’t use
[00:42:39.600 –> 00:42:44.280] it much. Um, cause I’m just kind of dabbling with it. I always thought it was kind of dumb.
[00:42:44.280 –> 00:42:52.040] So I don’t even bother. I, I still, you know, I do not and probably never will have only
[00:42:52.040 –> 00:42:58.400] fans because that’s just a little too outside my comfort zone. So don’t look for me there
[00:42:58.400 –> 00:43:02.300] and I’ll keep Facebook private for my, for my friends and family. So you can find me
[00:43:02.300 –> 00:43:03.300] on Instagram.

[00:43:37.320 –> 00:43:41.640] to come back and talk about something else that’s different. If you see something inspires
[00:43:41.640 –> 00:43:45.360] well, Hey, I’m a, I’m a click bait away.
